Elaine Macaninch teaches nutrition in medical education at Brighton and Sussex Medical School  and UCL Medical school. She is also the co-founder of ERIMNN, the Nutrition Eductation Policy for Healthcare Practice lead for NNEdPro Global centre for nutrition and health and the nutrition lead and a director for Culinary Medicine UK. She maintains a clinical role as a Registered Dietitian, specialising in diabetes in pregnancy. In addition she leads the UK Nutrition Implementation Coalition as a commitment of collaboration rather than competition connecting  ERimNN (Education and research in Medical Nutrition Network) NNedPro Global Centre for Nutrition Culinary Medicine UK and Nutritank. She is currently doing a PhD at Ulster university and has published papers on the gaps in nutrition education for medical students Nutrition inequalities and COVID-19 and helped to write the new UK nutrition curriculum for medical doctors. During COVID she helped to start a  pay as you feel community supermarket redistributing supermarket surplus to help address food and nutrition insecurity. Elaine is passionate about improving equal access to appropriate health food to support health for all.
